How This Application Works
This is the foundational application that starts the entire season. Applied in late March to early May, this granular product serves two critical functions: it feeds your turf as it exits winter dormancy, providing the nitrogen and nutrients needed for spring green-up, and simultaneously creates a chemical barrier in the soil that prevents crabgrass seeds from germinating.
The pre-emergent herbicide works by inhibiting cell division in germinating seeds - the crabgrass seed tries to sprout, hits this chemical barrier, and dies before it ever emerges from the soil.
